Specialist audiology clinic in the centre of Hitchin
The Hearing Clinic has been serving patients for over 20 years in Hertfordshire. Our Hitchin practice opened in 2020 sits in a beautiful listed building overlooking St Mary’s Church – a lovely area in Hitchin town centre, with parking available nearby and good transport links from London and surrounding towns including Stevenage, Letchworth, Baldock and Royston.
This isn’t a high-street hearing centre. Our Hitchin clinic is a specialist private audiology practice – CQC-registered and staffed by clinical audiologists. We offer the full range of audiological services here, and we take the time to get the assessment right. Appointments are typically 60 minutes or longer – never the 20-minute rush you might experience elsewhere.
If you’ve been waiting months for an NHS audiology appointment in Hertfordshire, or you’ve had a disappointing experience at a high-street hearing chain, our Hitchin clinic is worth a call.
This is what one of our patients has to say about our APD assessment and management:
“I have never been made to feel awkward or uncomfortable here.”
About a decade ago, I began to suspect some hearing issues. It wasn’t until a diagnosis of an unrelated inner ear problem, which affected the canals, that I faced the reality of my hearing loss.
This condition was not the cause of my hearing impairment, but it did lead the consultant to conduct several tests, resulting in a prescription for NHS-issued hearing aids. Unfortunately, these were cumbersome and uncomfortable, which led to infrequent use.
As my hearing deteriorated further, my wife’s insistence on professional testing grew stronger. She believed that updated hearing aids would significantly improve both our lives.
The turning point for me came when the television volume reached uncomfortable heights, and I found myself frequently asking others to repeat themselves.
To be honest, I didn’t select The Hearing Clinic myself – my wife did! She arranged the appointment and went with me to ensure I followed through. Her determination proved invaluable.
Peace of mind starts with one appointment
