Marion was Bridgitte’s first employee, back in 2016. As the clinic’s client base was increasing, Bridgitte needed support with the administrative side. Audiology was a complete change of direction for Marion: prior to joining The Hearing Clinic, she had worked for over 30 years in retail banking.
Marion joined NatWest Bank in Letchworth straight from school and worked there for 15 years until she had her first child. She then transferred to the NatWest branch in Hitchin and on to the branch in Stevenage Old Town. When the branch closed she took voluntary redundancy.
Marion was looking forward to having some free time, but she soon got bored. “I needed a new challenge and I missed the interaction with colleagues and customers,” she says. “It was then that I applied for the role as Secretary at The Hearing Clinic.”
During her career at NatWest, Marion gained extensive training and experience in many areas, from business and personal finance, to customer service and administration. While audiology is a very different service, these skills have been invaluable to Marion in her role at the clinic.
Marion lives with her husband and has three adult children. A keen traveller, she also enjoys going to the theatre, long country walks and keeping fit.
Marion says, “These are exciting times. From just me and Bridgitte in 2016, we’ve grown to a team of five. We’re looking forward to the future and continuing to help our clients to hear at their best.”
